Works with electronic MIDI drum kits that
have assignable MIDI notes using a standard
MIDI cable.
I use one of
Xbox 360 versions
with my Roland TD6 and TD3 to play Rock Band 2 and it works great. I Y'd in my Xbox
and TD6 to the same input on my receivers amp, turn down the games
instruments, adjust the volumes on the TD6 and RB2 so they match. Now I
have many snares and toms to choose from. Sounds Great.
Update: I
now use a Roland PM-10 monitor instead of Y'ing into the
same inputs on the receiver.
The GHWT Drums accepts MIDI
Notes through the MIDI input and maps/translates the MIDI note to
button/input the Gaming Console understands. The GHWT Drums will only
map the following:
RockBand Settings:
RED - MIDI
Note 38 YELLOW - MIDI Note 46 BLUE - MIDI Note 48 GREEN - MIDI Note 45 ORANGE - MIDI Note 36

Guitar Hero World Tour Settings:
RED - MIDI
Note 38 YELLOW - MIDI Note 46 BLUE - MIDI Note 48 GREEN - MIDI Note 45 ORANGE - MIDI Note 49 PURPLE - MIDI Note 36
NOTE:
The Lower end Roland modules do not have ability to map notes assigned to Hi
Hat Open/Closed independently. If you set the midi note number
for the Hi Hat to 50 instead of 46. The closed Hi Hat would then be 46,
so you can trigger the yellow with the Hi Ht closed and hear the closed
Hi Hat sound from the drum module.
Here is a video using my DIY mesh drum kit, TD-6
and the GHWT midi controller. I turned down the in game instruments and
using the drum sounds from the TD-6.
Here is how to get to the midi note
settings with the TD6 module:
1. Press edit setup
2. Press right arrow to - CONTROL
3. Press Enter
4. Press right arrow to - NOTE NO.
5. Then hit the drum you need to change note numbers for and then push
DEC/- or INC/+ to select the note numbers.
Here is how to get to the midi note
settings with the TD3 module:
1. Press Edit a few times till the NOTE # indicator
is lit.
2. Hit the drum you wish to set.
3. Press + or - to select the note number.
I have only had experience with the Roland TD6 and
TD3. For help with getting other drum modules working with the
GHWT midi drum controller. Go to

there that would be happy to solve any problems you may have.
